Jimmi the Great is by no means the most powerful boss in the expansion, but to defeat him, you will have to survive four phases of the battle before you can strike the final blow. Before you go into battle with Jimmi the Great, you should prepare. First, visit the NPC Canteen Hughes, standing to the left of the pyramid. This little mechanic will equip your plane with bombs, which will be a good support in the boss fight.

In addition, you should activate the Smoke Bomb ability. Thanks to this, you can become invulnerable for a short time at the moment when your plane shrinks. This ability will be excellent insurance against numerous projectiles flying at you.

During the first phase, Jimmi only uses two basic attacks: Skull Shot and Challenger’s Chest. Both abilities will alternate with each other, so be careful. These mummies tend to fly around the bottom or middle of the screen, so you should fly to the top. You shouldn’t kill mummies. Switch your weapons to bombs and attack the sarcophagus.

In addition to ghost mummies, sometimes Jimmi the Great will shoot eye planets at you. You will know he is preparing to shoot if you see how he closes his eyes. Projectiles fired will rise and fall in figure-of-eights. Try to dodge as you can’t destroy them. After a while, the Sarcophagus will close, which means the 4th phase is about to begin.

Jimmi the Great will appear on screen in standard form for a while. After that, he will turn into a large hand and begin to control the Puphead puppet.

Puphead will dance, so stay away from him and attack from a distance. In addition, the puppet will shoot large projectiles from the finger in different directions along a straight trajectory. The projectiles don’t fly very fast, so try to dodge them.

Djimmi’s headgear will also fly around the screen and emit many small projectiles in different directions. It is best to hide from them near the puppet. This phase is one of the fastest, so you will soon be able to strike the final blow.

In the final phase, Jimmi’s face will take up a third of the screen. Three pyramids with eyes will also appear. These pyramids will circle you and take turns firing energy beams up, down, right, and left. If you survive the previous phases, dodging these attacks is not difficult.

At the same time, Jimmi himself will shoot translucent smoke rings, which are also easy to dodge. Soon the boss will start to choke. You must shoot him a little more, after which you will defeat Jimmi the Great in Cuphead.
