The heritage textile brand, formerly known as Cortech LLC, is now Cortex Fabrics, according to Joe Bettini, EVP, sales for the company.

The name change will clarify the performance textile product offerings Cortex Fabrics brings to the marketplace. “We provide sustainable, performance textiles to the contract, hospitality, healthcare, senior living, marine, transportation, automotive and RV markets, not tech products,” said Bettini. “With this name change, there should no longer be any confusion as to our products or category,” he added.

A cornerstone of Cortex Fabrics is the company’s silicone fabric offerings, which has a proprietary construction, silicone is the textile industry’s only true environmental alternative to vinyl. This natural product is resistant to abrasion, cracking, fading, stains and weather and may be cleaned and disinfected with a bleach solution without harm to the color, luster or performance of the fabric. Cortex Fabrics is a leader of silicone products in the U.S.

Today, with rising petroleum prices affecting all petroleum products, silicone is unaffected. Being a sustainable performance product has new rewards, added Bettini.

Additionally, Cortex Fabrics offers the only CDC-certified coated fabrics in the U.S., according to Aaron Gelvan, EVP, operations. “We are committed to bringing sustainable performance products to market and our silicone, PVC, polyurethane and woven fabrics all fit those criteria,” he added.
