Nevada start-up company AEONrv has opened up a niche market between the all-terrain Ford Transit campervan and the oversized Ford F-series expedition RV, launching a compact C-class Ford expedition equipment. Its veritable RV paired a one-ton Ford van chassis with a custom composite living cabin built in accordance with Silicon Valley-level technical standards for completely off-grid, four-season wilderness exploration and living.

Perhaps the ultimate way to cut the connection with the power grid, stay away from civilized people, delete the word "Omicron" from your vocabulary, AEONrv tries to find the best balance between capable and flexible all-terrain driving and smart, self . -Enough base camp. Its purpose is to do so at a price point that is not as terrible as an ordinary land RV-although this price point still requires many buyers to sell all of their mundane property and call the RV "home."

AEONrv is the latest answer to some people's dissatisfaction with what they think is cheap and inferior products from the American RV agency in Indiana. The company has a number of Silicon Valley startup executives in its leadership, who have promoted more than 60 years of software and technology experience.

AEON CEO Jim Ritchie explained in his October company introduction: “The birth of AEONrv stems from my disappointment with the lack of quality and innovation of RVs made by traditional manufacturers.” “The RV I bought is Made of low-quality plywood and plastic, using staples and other fragile fasteners, they tend to fall apart over time. I think we can build a more durable, strong yet attractive modern And exquisite things, we "will figure out how to do this at a price point that customers like. "

AEONrv used insulating glass fiber reinforced panels, industrial adhesives, and marine-grade components to manufacture the Transit installation box, rather than those mass-market materials. Insulated doors, double-sided acrylic windows, and construction methods without heat transfer help to keep the air cooled by the air conditioner in summer and heat in winter.

The AEONrv interior is designed for two adults and up to two children. The floor plan skips popular solutions such as sleeper niches, pop-up roofs, and pull-down beds, and instead adopts a compact, simple layout, starting with a 60 x 80 inch (152 x 203 cm) full back bed. Kids Sleep on a 68-inch (173 cm) long bed, converted from a double bench.

The dining table and chairs are single beds at first, but can be expanded to a 48-inch (123 cm) wide double bed. Two front-facing dining tables and chairs are used as rear passenger seats during driving, ensuring that AEONrv can transport it to the same family of four that sleeps at night. The multifunctional, fully adjustable table doubles as a mobile workstation and can be used as a sitting or standing desk.

In the aisle next to the dining table, the flexible kitchen keeps the counter space open with a portable indoor/outdoor induction cooker, which can be stowed away when not in use. The 150-liter refrigerator/freezer at the front corner of the driver’s side, overhead cabinets, under-counter drawers and cabinets, and adjacent slide-out pantry provide plenty of space for food, cooking utensils, tableware and other kitchen necessities. You can choose to use a small overhead microwave oven.

In front of the main kitchen area, AEONrv has a wet bathroom with indoor/outdoor showers, flip-top sinks and toilets. The bathroom doubles as a mud room for storing and drying wet clothes and equipment.

All-weather off-grid capability is an indispensable part of AEONrv’s purpose and design. It all starts with an 8.2 kWh self-heating lithium iron phosphate battery pack, which is charged by a 700 watt Victron solar panel and a 1.5 kW alternator. Option to upgrade to 5.5-kW/24-V alternator charging. Campers use the on-board touch screen or mobile device to monitor and control the electrical system through Victron's Cerbo GX interface. Aeon also plans to launch an integrated, smart home-style full camper vehicle control system in the future.

The air conditioning, heating and hot water system team creates a comfortable indoor environment throughout the year. Fresh water is stored in a 250-liter water tank, and gray water enters a 106-liter freeze-proof storage tank before being dumped.

AEONrv is based on the Ford Transit AWD one-ton SRW cut chassis and is equipped with a 306-horsepower 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6, a 10-speed automatic transmission and a 3.73 limited-slip axle. This version includes Van Compass 2-inch lift kit, custom heavy-duty front coil spring, custom-tuned rear shock absorber, BFGoodrich All Terrain T/A KO2 tires, custom rear bumper, differential skid plate, rear-facing external LED light bar And the rear wall L-shaped track, used to install the towing plate, shovel and other equipment.

AEONrv's base price of $184,500 is competitive with similar all-wheel expedition C-class models such as Winnebago Ekko and Rossmönster Baja, and off-road camper models such as Winnebago Revel and Airstream Interstate 24X. AEONrv is scheduled to begin delivery in the first quarter of 2022.

It may mainly focus on bringing its first product to the market, but AEONrv is already considering a more electric expedition vehicle in the future. It intends to use its experience on the Transit platform as a potential starting point for the development of an E-Transit-based RV or possible hybrid.
